Deleting an obsolete blog

  Under ‘My Sites’ I have three blogs I still use and a fourth is obsolete, actually a blank one set up by a student placement who had admin access to my wordpress dashboard. when I follow the delete site procedure and get to the point where I type in the site address I want to delete and hit ‘delete’ nothing happens. Can anyone help. It has no upgrades or premium features. It has no posts and only 2 followers.
