deleting an old site

  I recently started a music blog:
  thepockettrumpet.wordpress.com

  However, I also seem to have started another site from when I was trying different template designs which has my name as the URL before I changed it to thepockettrumpet:

  owenhewson.wordpress.com

  Is there a way I can delete the old one which looks terrible and comes up when people search for pocket trumpet music blog?

  The more you publish on your new blog the more those results will push down the results from the older blog. In order to delete any blog one must be logged in under the exact username account that registered the blog. Provided you are logged in under the username account that registered the blog you can delete it by using these instructions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
  Please note that deleted blog URLs are not recycled.
