Deleting an old thread

  Hi everyone,
  I need help with deleting an old thread (I wasn’t able to figure out how to do it myself or if it’s even possible) or deleting any identifying information, especially from the first post I made, so that this will stop showing up on my google search.

  You can’t delete it yourself, and deleting threads is rare here. Generally it’s only done when a thread is completely off the rails, libelous, or something long those lines.

  thanks raincoaster,
  so how do I get rid of it? I believe that even deleting the identifying information would be enough to prevent it from showing up on google. Do you know who do I do that?

  You don’t. You can’t. Staff probably won’t either, but you can ask them by putting the word Modlook into the Tags box in the sidebar here.

  Thanks again, just did that,
  It doesn’t make any sense that WordPress will insist on keep hunting me for years after a mistake they did which forced me into using my personal information publicly.
  I completely understand and respect the communal importance of keeping old threads alive and believe that deleting my personal information (both of my accounts name and my old profile name) would be fair to everyone.

  Again, especially on the first post, and especially the link I put before “–this is the renascent blog”, I believe that’s what causing most of the trouble.

  Every single time you post to this thread you give additional google juice to the original thread as well as to this one. Put “modlook” in the tags and wait for staff.

  We really only remove personally identifying information upon request such as those items which are listed here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/private-information/

  When reviewing the forum thread you mentioned, I didn’t see any information along those lines, but if it is there please let me know and I’ll be happy to look again.
