deleting an old wordpress site

Hi, I wish to delete an older WordPress site I created a while back as I am working on starting a completely new one. How do I do this? When I hit ‘delete site’, it tells me to go to Manage Purchases in order to take care of my premium upgrade. I go there and there are no options for deleting. I just don’t want two sites running at the same time.

homemadebyapril.wordpress.com seems to be using the Handmade theme. Is this the site you wish to delete? It has a premium theme (which never expires) and that often prevents blogs being deleted without staff help. The easiest solution would be to empty the site of content or set the site to private as there is always the possibility that you could find a use for the site and the Premium theme at some point in the future. And be aware that deleting the site will make that address unusable by you or anyone else again for the immediate future (at least two years).
If you still wish to delete a site then return to this thread confirming the address (and the theme) you no longer require and also type modlook into the tag box to the right. That will draw the attention of staff to your request and they should respond in due course.

Thank you so much. Making it private is actually not something I considered but that sounds like a better idea as I may very well wish to use this again in the future. I will take that route instead of deleting. Good advice.
