  can I delete my site and still use the same site name later if I choose to return

  If you’d like to use the same site name later we recommend setting the site to private by following this guide:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  In addition to making the site private staff can also empty all posts and pages from the site if you wish. If you’d like us to perform this option let us know keeping in mind there’s no going back.

  Just let us know you understand the content will be gone and which site you’d like emptied and we’ll get it taken care of.
