deleting blog

hey!
I just deleted my blog because I realized that I could add another wordpress site from my current one and wanted to have everything together instead of 2 login’s etc. With that being said, I still wanted to use the same blog name (the veggie haus) however when I go to add it the system is telling me its still taken. I realize its probably still in the cache since it was just done today; I’m wondering if I will be able to use the same name at some point and if so how long it will take until I can use it again? (it was a free wordpress site) – I’ve already cleared my cache and cookies and still same outcome. any help would be appreciated!

Site deletion is a permanent and irreversible act. There are at least 3 warnings including an email verification link sent that must be clicked to delete a blog URL https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
I am sorry but you cannot register a deleted blog URL. No one can use a deleted blog URL regardless of who registered it. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled here and you can confirm by reading:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
