Deleting Blogs

    Hello there,

I have been trying to delete a blog for over two months now, but to no avail. I have
actually deleted the blog but I want any links to it taken off from my main homescreen.
I have put a message here and sent two feedback queries, but again, to no avail.

I would like someone to tell me how to do it, if possible. Otherwise, I would really
    appreciate any direct help.

The blog I am to delete is http://sarine.wordpress.com.

    Thank you,
    dearararat

The blog your aiming to delete, well, is deleted. As far as delting any links to it; that can vary in instructions. If it is a link that is on your main blog, then it will need to be manually removed. Foir instance, if it is on your blogroll, simply go to the admin panel -> Blogroll and delete the blog if it is located in this section. However, if it has been manually added, as in through a Text field through the Widget section of your Presentation panel on the admin panel, simply find the text field it is located in and, well, remove it.

Now, if the link is located on another persons blog, they are the only ones able to remove it. Simply email or contact them in some way and inform them the blog is no longer active. If you delete a blog, it will not automatically remove it from their blogroll, as the interface between blogs is not direct. Hope this helps, if it does not, then I did not understand your question!

I think dearararat is stating that the deleted blog is still listed on their drop down menu from their blue bar, along the top. Maybe?

I’m not sure where specifically he or she is looking as as we don’t have a main homescreen here. Maybe if you would list the URL that you are looking at instead of speaking in general terms, it would be helpful for us to help you.

The other post was not specific so that’s probably why no answer was given.

When I log into WordPress as dearararat, I have three links under “Welcome back, dearararat. Your blogs: ———-“.

I want to have “sarine” deleted from the “your blogs: sarine” list as well as from my dashboards. What good is deleting a blog if I still see remnants of it? Also, this blog was and is not on anyone’s blogroll.

Thank you once again for your help.

drmike, I reviewed the post I wrote in April and it couldn’t be clearer. Unless you want me to print screen what I see?

drmike, the URL I’m looking at when I see the link to the deleted blog and the dashboard in the drop down menu is http://wordpress.com.

Instead of a print screen, how about the label of the page you are looking at. I don’t recall anything labeled as a “main screen” around here. To me, that would probably have been the dashboard after one logs into their blog. To you, it’s something different since you login via a different method. That’s one of the reasons why I try to push specifics around here.

You’ll note that crosswalk wasn’t clear on what you were discussing either. :)

    Feedback sent.

    podz,

Here is what I see when I first logon to WordPress, on the right:

    “Welcome back, dearararat.

    Your blogs:

    dearararat
    sarine
    twosolitudes

    258 thousand blogs on WordPress.com.
    Register another blog »”

I don’t see any changes, but I’m about to give up.

    Thanks for your help!
