Deleting captions in image galleries

  This is really annoying. Whenever I add a caption to an image, that caption is then stuck whenever that image is used in a different post. I recycle a lot of images for my site and I always have to delete the old caption when I put the image into a new post. That is frustrating enough but it is easy to work around.

  Now, however, I have used one image in two different galleries in the same post and I can only choose one caption. If I change it in one gallery, it automatically gets changed in the other. In this particular case, I want one with the caption and the other with known. It would be helpful if each time an image is used, it starts with a clean slate.

  Is there a way to have one image in two galleries with two different captions (or without a caption, as it may be)? Thanks for the help!

  I’m not sure if this helps but try naming each image a different name and uploading them separately. When you upload an image it gets archived so using it in different areas will keep reverting back to the archived source. Thanks.

  Thanks for the idea. That may be a useful work around if push comes to shove. Still, I think it is a flaw in the system that ought to be addressed.
