deleting catagories

  i go into settings / writing / categories and try and delete old categories, hit OK but they are still there. HELP?

  I can recreate that behaviour in the My Sites/Calypso dashboard if the category I am trying to delete is unattached to any post. However categories attached to posts delete easily. Using the classic wp-admin dashboard (add: /wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category to the end of your site address) and even unattached categories can be deleted. I have added the modlook tag to ask if a member of staff could check this out.

  Thanks for getting in touch. I’ve also replicated the behavior that themagicrobot has described. The issue has been reported to our team.

  For now, the best option, is to use the work around in the classic /wp-admin/ editor.
