deleting categories

I am trying to delete some categories. I hover over them, but nothing happens. How do I delete them?

Hello homeofhildy,
If you will follow the directions in the link below you will be able to delete the categories that you need to. Scroll down to the part entitled Managing Categories and you will find the information that you are in search of. Good Luck!

To edit a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published) and delete a category tag, go to Dashboard → Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the post title and click the Edit link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#go-back-and-edit-posts
