deleting .com blog and moving to hostgator

    Hi,

I have a blog on wordpress.com that I haven’t done anything with. I have just signed up with host gator and have tried to upload wordpress there but it is taking me to my old .com blog. I just bought a domain name through wordpress and have used the same for both. I’m wanting to delete my old blog so I can start a new one as a .org on hostgator but keep my domain name.
Can you tell me how to do this?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

You can point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to Hostgator with these steps:

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

You’ll need to obtain the name server values from Hostgator. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

Please note that this only changes your host – your domain registrar is still us, so you must renew the domain registration through us and the hosting through Hostgator. You can find out more about this difference between registration and hosting here:

I hope this helps – let me know if you have any more questions!
