Deleting default home page image

  • Unknown's avatar

I can’t seem to figure out how to delete the stock image of a laptop from the home page in the Gateway theme. I want to replace it with my own image. Any help with this would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

It looks like the image is part of a page called home.

If you go to your Dashboard–>Pages—>and then select Home.

Find the image. It might be on the page or part of a featured image and then delete it.

Let us know if that was able to resolve the problem.

Thanks. That’s the problem – I can’t find the image. When I’m in edit, the image doesn’t appear. If its a featured image, how or where do I delete it?

BTW, there are similar images on the contact page, about page, etc. that I’d like to change.

    Hi,

The default laptop image that you refer to is a featured image. I don’t know why you have default featured images on the site — I presume this one, at the Contact page, is also a default image — because in two test sites with the Gateway theme activated I was unable to duplicate the issue. I would try removing the featured image at the appropriate module in the corresponding page editor. You may also replace any default featured image with another featured image.

Sorry, folks. I failed to update while investigating the issue, and had only seen the original post.

    No worries. :-)
I failed to include a link to the featured image that you included.

    Okay. Thanks. : )

    @resmiley,

If the default images appear in the featured images modules of the corresponding page editors, then you may simply delete each one by clicking the option “Remove featured image” below the image.

If the default images do not appear in the featured images modules of the corresponding page editors, you should be able to get rid of them by setting new featured images, and then deleting them.

The second option I just mentioned is obviously a less than ideal work around. There might be an easier way that I’m unaware of. You might want to call for staff attention to ask for an explanation and available options.

To call for staff attention, add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic.

Thanks everyone. I found they were featured images, and I was able to delete them by going to the menu on the left side of the screen. Problem resolved!

    Great! You’re welcome!
