Deleting default unused themes such as Twenty Ten etc

I keep deleting the pre-installed default themes such as Twenty Ten etc but they just will not go. I go into the details of each theme I want to delete and click on the delete button in the bottom right corner and the page updates showing the theme is gone. I go back to dashboard and then back to Appearance and the deleted theme is still there. How can I remove these themes permanently to reduce security vulnerabilities?
