deleting documents from Media does not remove them from my site
-
Hi Can you tell me how to remove some pdf documents from my site. I went in to Media and clicked on each media file that I wanted to remove and they dissapeared from Media, but when I reloaded the site, they srre still on the web pages.

Can you share an example of one of the links where you are still seeing the pdf you have deleted?

Hi Rootjosh. Thanks for your reply. I think I have half sorted it. I use Firefox and I think that the documents still come up when I load the website because they are in the cache. I tried viewing the website on Microsoft Edge and found that the documents do not appear. I have tried deleting the cache from Firefox going to “Tools- Options-Privacy & Security and then to Manage Data and clearing the cache, but the documents still appear. Do you have any suggestions? The website is
“https://greatdoddingtonheritagegroup.wordpress.com/”
and the page is “Newsletters”
There should be no documents on that page. I wanted to delete all the embedded documents and replace them with download links. -
I can still see embedded documents on that page.
You will want to delete all of the embeds and add File Blocks (or simple links) instead:https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/file-block/.
Once you’ve done that, make sure to click on the button Update (right upper corner). This should work.
Let me know if you’re having any problem with that, though.

Thanks very much fresatomica. I managed to solve it by removing blocks. However, the instructions are not easy to follow and it took me quite a while to discover exactly how to remove the blocks. For instance it says select a block, but does not tell you exactly how to select a block.
Kind regards. Thanks for your help.
Peter
