Deleting Domain

    Hello!

    I am trying to delete my Blog http://www.ashleighfournier.com and getting the following warning:

    “Warning! You cannot delete a site if it has a domain registration upgrade because you need access to the site in order to get to the domain manager”

    Any help would be appreciated!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Ashleigh,

    Do you only want the blog deleted or the domain name as well?

    If it’s the first case, you can transfer the domain to another blog and then delete the blog in question.

    However, if you want to delete the domain name as well, I’m tagging this thread for Staff attention and they’d be able to remove it for you.

    Hi Ashleigh,

    As mentioned, if a site has a custom domain it cannot be deleted until the domain is either canceled or transfered to another site. The reason for this is that if the site associated with the domain is deleted you will be unable to use the domain with another host or WordPress.com site.

    If you would like to cancel the domain please let us know and confirm that you understand that the domain may never be available to you again. If you plan to use the domain with another site we do not recommend canceling it.

    Another option is to set the site to private which will prevent the site from being publicly seen: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

    Thanks for your help! I would like to delete both domain and WordPress blog.

    I understand I may never get the domain again.
