Deleting dubious email followers

  I have some suspicious email followers that I would like to have blocked or deleted:

  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  These all registered at the same time and have little to do with the theme of my blog – workplace safety.

  Could you please block them for me?

  I’ve just deleted these for you. Note that this won’t prevent the followers to follow your blog again in the future.

  Alternatively, you can hide your blog instead, please use privacy option so only you and logged-in members of the blog can view it.

  Thanks for your help on this. Is there no chance of WordPress applying a blocking option to followers as is available with Twitter? I want to keep my blog as open as possible.

  Also, this follower has turned up since my initial request.

  (email visible only to moderators and staff) 174.4.168.176

  It leads to a porn chatroom. I have reported it as spam through the WordPress options but would like to know when and what action WordPress can take on this type of action. Should Akismet address this?
