deleting established categories in bulk

    Hello Support,
    Over time I have created so many categories – 235 currently. I have also created 3062 tags since the inception of Second Chance to Live in February 2007. I did so in an attempt to reach as many people as possible with a message of hope.

    My naivete and desire to be of service, over time; has me in having too many categories. I would like to trim down my current 235 categories down to about 7 of the most significant categories. I would like to do this is a bulk fashion. I have been told that I can go to my category page in my administrative page and bulk delete categories.

    Can some one at wordpress help me to eliminate many of my established categories?

    My interest is to be of service in helping individuals in the brain injury and P’TSD community to locate my current 1378 articles and 268 video presentations.

    Your post categories page is here: https://secondchancetolive.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category. You may set the number to display in the Screen Options drop-down menu which opens with a tab at the top right of the page. You may easily display all 235 categories at the same time by simply setting the number to display at 235 or greater.

    To bulk delete those which you don’t wish to keep, do the following:
    1. Toggle from “Bulk Actions” option to the “Delete” option.
    2. Place a check in the box directly below “Delete.” This will place a check before all 235 categories.
    3. Uncheck the 7 or so categories you wish to keep.
    4. Click the “Apply” button beside “Delete”
    Voilà!

    I have attempted that but have had no success, even by doing one category at a time. I have contacted support and they are looking into the matter. Will get back to me. Thank you for your time, kindness and willingness to help me.
