Deleting Followers from a PRIVATE blog

  I have a private blog with invitation only users.
  I have deleted 2 users from accessing the blog but see they still appear under the list of My Followers.
  Surely if I delete a user from accessing a private blog the wordpress site should automatically disallow them from email updates on new posts/comments!
  How can I get them off that list?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The deleted users still appear in my list of Blog followers.

  Do they still receive email updates for new posts and comments?
  They should not appear in any lists if they have been deleted?

  Hello Christine,

  Followers will not receive notifications about posts that they do not have access to. If you’ve removed them from access to your private blog, they will no longer receive any notifications about its updates.

  Please let me know if there’s anything else that I can do to help.

  Then why do they still appear in the count of followers and their username listed under list of Blog – List of Followers?
