Deleting highlighted text in a Classic Block deletes the entire block
-
In just the last couple of weeks when writing in the Classic Block (not the Classic Editor) if I move the cursor in front of the first word of a line in a paragraph and hit delete/backspace, instead of the text moving back to the previous line/paragraph, the entire Classic Block is deleted.
Similarly if I attempt to highlight and delete, or replace, the first line or the first word, even just to edit the spelling for example, in any new paragraph, the entire block is deleted.
I’m not sure if this is a bug that can be fixed or another deliberate degradation of the Classic Blocks functionality, but I’m hoping someone can help.
NB: Before I’m scolded for using the Classic Block, my blog is 15 years old and I still have some posts and pages where I use it because it’s more convenient.
