Deleting images, but worry it will delete posted picture.

What happens if I delete a image from my library? Will it remove the picture from my page? I use my page for our news story and do not want images posted on our page to be deleted, just in the library.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Deleting an image from your library removes it from pages and posts where it was used. Instead of the picture, there will be a broken image icon and/or alt text in its place. -
Hello micawbr, I was told that I could delete the unattached pictures, that those pictures will not mess with the postings. I found out that the unattached pictures as well as attached pictures were delete even when I only wanted unattached pictures to be deleted. Why are the pictures from my posting are deleted when I only wanted the unattached pictures to be deleted? As WordPress said, “If you click on the Unattached link, all of the media files not associated with a post or page (i.e. you did not upload them from within a post or page) will be displayed.” I now have to go back and repost them all again. WordPress needs to state that even attached pictures will be deleted if you delete unattached pictures.

Hi Zach,
Even if an image is listed as unattached, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it isn’t being used in one of your site’s posts or pages. Unattached Files may have been uploaded separately and then added to a post or page, which means that deleting them will still delete them from the related post or page where it was added. (In other words, the unattached status won’t guarantee that a file is safe to delete from your media library without affecting your site.) I’m sorry that wasn’t clearer when you were managing your site’s media files.
