Deleting images from the media section

  I am running out of free media space. I have gone thru a first round of deleting old images that I no longer need.
  If I’ve used Image ABC for blog May 10, XXXX, for example, would image ABC no longer be seen on the archived blog May 10, XXXX?

  Images and media you upload into your media library and embed into posts and pages are on wordpress.COM servers. They remain visible unless or until you delete them from your media library. Deleting them from your media library also removes them from every place you embedded them in the blog and leaves behind broken links.

  Staff cannot restore images you delete from your Media Library. You have to upload them all again, and then fix every broken image link in every post/page it was embedded into previously.

  If you upload lots of images you can exhaust that free space allocation quickly. Currently, the only way to get an extra space allocation after you upload the images again, is to purchase an upgrade bundle. https://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/

  IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blogs and/or blog content or making the site private does not remove indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results) and we cannot help with that. Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found):

  Thank you for this information. I wish I had known to ask this before I started deleting photos from my Media collection. There are now broken links. I don’t have the patience to go thru and find out where all the broken links are. And the photos are from travels and such so going to seek out photos from my computer sounds exhausting. That’s really a bummer to have lost them on the blogs.
