Deleting information about me that automatically appears on my blog.

  I’d like to delete the section “About xtine3” that’s automatically appeared at the bottom of my new blog (which is set to private). How do I do this– OR– how do I edit this info about me in my profile?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The autofilled information is visible to you when you are logged in and have not cleared your browser cache and cookies. No one else can see it.

  When someone makes a comment on your blog, unless they have cleared their cookies, WordPress.com will recognize them and complete the details for them. No one else will be able to view those details in comment boxes or in contact forms. The next person who comments will see blank fields. Commenters will not see each others details.

  Also note that the Admin [edit] link is only for your convenience and the convenience of your Editors, if you have any. And only you and your editors can see it and use it while you are logged in to WordPress.com.   YIKES! I’m sorry that was the wrong answer above. Here is the correct one.

  Very few themes have an author profile that displays below every post. In most themes there is no such feature and the data derived from here > Dashboard > Users > My Profile > About You (section) does not appear on the blog, it appears appears on your Gravatar profile page only.

  You can switch to a theme that does not have an author profile.

  Or you can remove the data from here > Dashboard > Users > My Profile > About You (section)

  That’s just great! Thanks so much, timethief. I did figure out that removing my author info would also remove the info from the page. Good to know that some themes do this and others don’t.
