deleting my account

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello !
Please delete my account “mondialor” ! The owner of this account has now his own website. I tried also to re-use this account by renaming it but all the names i tried to give are not available (not used but not available, i do not even know what it means !) : budabar, artmozaik…
However i have rights to ask you to delete my account completely but as it is not possible by myself, i kindly ask you to do it !

What is this bullshit ? I thought this message will be sent to WordPress and not to show it for the people… It is scandallous that i do not find the way to delete my account or to ask it to delete it directly to WordPress. This is against rights !!!

If WordPress does not let people to delete the account and they do not delete it either, this is agains the law ! We have rights to ask website owners, server management (WP) to delete all data from public AND from the database too ! So, as we have at least our email in our account and a wordpress account does not work without email address, we have the right to delete it immediately ! If not, i will go further to find my rights with authorities : this is the website of the organisation in France who takes care of civil rights on internet, and this is the article which says what i say (in French) : http://www.cnil.fr/vos-droits/vos-droits/le-droit-de-rectification/

    Hi there,

It isn’t possible to delete WordPress.com accounts. Since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled).

Here are a few suggestions for you if you’d like to scrub the account:

    1) Delete your WordPress.com sites

    2) If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, go to your notifications settings and click on “Block Emails.”

    3) You can also go to your account settings to remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This will only leave the username behind.

    4) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, create a strong password and change the account password to it.

    5) While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information through the Edit My Profile page.

You can also make your Gravatar profile private so no one else can view it. From the Edit My Profile page, click the “View Profile” link to see your profile, and then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the sidebar there.

If you have a minute, it would be very helpful to us to hear why you to want to leave so we can try to improve our service in the future.

No, thanks ! I want to get back my email address from your database !!! I have the rights for it, you are not allowed to keep it !!! See the rights in the link i gave you above !

In this case you must give me your email address and then you can keep the account !

If not, i will attack wordpress, i write for the organisation !

    Thanks for your answer

Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This will only leave the username behind.

gives you “back” your email address – but if you are not using the account leaving an email address here does you no harm and they will not send you any spam nor sell your address anyway

MAYBE you are right… but if i DO NOT WANT to loet my email address in their database, they can not force me ! That is all… I use this email for many things but anyway, i do not need to be explained for the reason.

Yes, actually, they can force you.
