  How to delete my blog once I’ve transferred my domain…. It is still coming up in web searches

  The search engines can take 4-6 weeks or more to add or remove any new site. We don’t have control on this.

  If you’re having problems with a site not hosted with WordPress.com, we may not be able to help. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. You can find support for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress here and here.

  When I log into wordpress.com and go to delete it says that my DNS needs to be registered under wordpress.1. etc etc etc in order to delete but I just got the server address switched so I need to get in touch with someone who can now delete the wordpress.com acct

  I’ll need to cancel your domain with us before you can delete your blog.

  Before I do that, would please make sure that the transfer has completed?

  The Transfer has been completed (Ie I can access my site through go daddy and it comes up as a domain in my name when I sign on to their server) Is this all I need to confirm?

  Yep, that’s all we need. I have cancelled your domain on this end, and you can delete your blog via Tools -> Delete Site in your blog’s Dashboard.
