Deleting my blog

Hi, I hope someone can help me out. This evening, I tried to import my tumblr blog into a private backup wordpress blog. In spite of my countless attempts to make it “private”, the radio buttons kept resetting to the default, so that it was public and could be easily indexed by search engines. I was unhappy with this, so I attempted to delete the entire thing. I got the email, clicked the link, and found that my blog with the imported posts was still up! I keep getting this message that I “do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard”
I just want the entire blog I created this evening deleted. Can someone help me out? I want all of the important content from tumblr deleted. Thank you in advance.

To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content and deleting blogs does not remove any indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months.

Thank you for your response. That is the blog, and I was logged in under the same name (this is the only wordpress account I have.) I got the link in my email, I clicked on it, and got a message that said it was deleted, but the blog is still up, and now I’m completely unable to access it. According to the dashboard, I have NO blog! I can’t access any settings, but it still remains up, and it’s even giving me the daily stats for visitors! This is crazy.
I know I followed all the instructions correctly, but I can’t understand why it didn’t delete. I just want the entire thing deleted. Is there a way for an administrator to possible delete it?

Not sure what happened there, but I have deleted the site on my end, and can confirm that it is gone.
If you still see it, be aware that your browser may be caching the page before the change was made, so it may appear to be live still, though I assure you it is not.
If that is the case, can you try clearing out your browser’s cache and cookies, try a different browser, or a different computer if you can, and see if the problem persists?
