deleting my blog and account

    Hi I have had my blog/ website for 2 years now and I am wanting to delete it before the end of July so that I do not have to renew my website or continue paying for it. How can I do this? What is the process of deleting or closing my domain? Also will this delete the domain completely or will other people be over to take it over? Because I would like it to be gone completely so that no one will hack it or take it over. Thank you!

    Are you speaking of https://sistercrook.com/?

    Cancelling the domain and deleting that site has to be done at your hosting provider, Bluehost.com, so please contact them directly for hepl with this. The site is listed in your WordPress.com account because you connected it here using the Jetpack plugin, but we have no control over your site itself.

    You only own a domain for as long as you pay for it. If you cancel a domain, you give up ownership of it, and after the domain goes through a redemption period at the registry, it gets released again so anyone can register it. The only way to keep control over that domain is to continue renewing it each year.
