Deleting My Blog and Domain

  Last year I registered a domain with the plan of starting a blog. WordPress and the happiness engineers made the process fun and easy. But last year I was diagnosed with Cancer and things changed. I wanted to hold on to the blog, so I would log in every once and a while to make sure that the account stayed active and I was hoping that my inspiration for the blog would return but I’m dealing with so much right now that I don’t have the time or the energy to devote to a blog. Right now I can only focus on getting well. I would like to delete and/or cancel everything. Please cancel and/or delete my blog and domain. I hope that this doesn’t ruin my chances for using WordPress in the future…I really did create the account with the full intention of becoming a newbie blogger and I was very excited…but I guess sometimes things change.

  I’m very sorry to hear this, but so happy that you are focusing on your health.

  Many of our users leave the site as is and revisit it in the future, which you can do, but I understand if you don’t want a lingering blog in the back of your mind.

  I’d be happy to cancel the domain and help you delete your site. I understand you would like to cancel your custom domain: mentalchaostheater.com, but please note that this is different from other upgrades and is stated during the purchase process.

  Canceling a domain at this time means you completely give up ownership of the domain. There is no guarantee the domain will become available to re-register after cancellation.

  If you would like to completely cancel your ownership of the domain name, please reply to confirm. Once we completely cancel the domain I can help you delete your site.

  Your domain isn’t set to expire until May 20th, 2015, so if you want me to just disable the auto-renewal and let it expire naturally I can as well.

  Hi Grace….Thanks for responding so quickly. Yes, I would like to completely give up ownership of the domain name and delete the site.

  Thanks for the confirmation. I have canceled the domain and removed it from your account. If you want to permanently delete your site, follow the guide below:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-site/

  Please read the warnings and advice before deleting a site, as we can’t revert a site deletion for any reason and the site address cannot be reused.

  If you want to hide your site instead, you can use the following guide to make your site private so only you and people that you have invited can view the site:
