deleting my site

  I’ve tried to delete my scanonophoto website completely, but it won’t let me delete the premium template that I had purchased a long time ago. How do I go about deleting the site completely? How do I delete that template?

  You have few options here:
  1. Make the site private so that no one is able to see it.
  2. Transfer the theme to another WordPress.com site that you might have and then delete this site
  3. Get the theme deleted altogether and then delete this site.

  You will need help from WordPress.com staff for transferring or deleting the theme. I am tagging this thread with modlook for the attention of the support staff. Please wait while someone from the support team gets back to you on this.

  Hi Sherry,

  it won’t let me delete the premium template that I had purchased a long time ago

  I’ve removed the premium theme from scanonophoto.wordpress.com, so you should be able to delete the site now.

  Just so you are aware, deleting a site is permanent and you won’t be able to use that WordPress.com address again. If you are sure you want to delete the site, these steps will guide you through the process:

  Thank you gemmacevans! Hmmm, maybe it would be best if I just hide the site from public view, instead of deleting it, just in case I want to use the address at a later time. How do I go about doing that? I do not want the site to show up in any google searches.

  scanonophoto.wordpress.com can be marked private in My Site > Settings > Privacy.

  You’ll notice there are three options public, hidden and private. This guide explains the differences between each:

  I do not want the site to show up in any google searches.

  Marking your site private will hide it from public view and block search engines — although it won’t automatically remove your existing pages from search engine results.
