Deleting my site

Hello! I previously had a website through my WordPress account. I just deleted the content within the site itself (pages, blogs, etc.). I then deleted the website itself. I want to ensure a few things: (1) that my content has been deleted; (2) that the website has been deleted and is no longer accessible on the internet; and (3) that the URL, if at all possible, is actually available to the public (i.e., that I no longer have any affiliation whatsoever with the URL–perhaps the way to do this it to altogether delete my WordPress.com account, which I would be happy to do). Thank you!

    Hi @gagangupta2,

Here is the recommended process to removing your content and deleting your site:

Make sure that you’re signed into the account that owns the site and then follow these steps:
    1. Empty your site – this will remove all the content off your site.
    2. Delete your site

Please be advised that if you have any upgrades, you’ll have to first cancel them.

A WordPress.com account cannot be deleted although, you can remove all personal information from your site and change your account settings rendering it inactive.

Just be aware that these actions are permanent and cannot be reversed.

Here is a support guide on how to complete the above: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/.

    Cheers,

    Ally

In the links I stated for you above they also inform you that WordPress does not recycle deleted blog URLs, regardless of who registered and deleted them.

The only exceptions made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. You can read more about this in the link below :)
