Deleting my WordPress.com account

    Your warning states: ‘It will remove your account along with all your sites and all their content.’

    Do you mean to say that my site on iPage Webhost and the other site on NameCheap Webhost will be deleted along with their content? How could that be? I just want the ‘twopipes’ account at WordPress.com permanently closed. Why should I lose my websites that have nothing to do with WordPress.com?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Sites not hosted on WordPress.com fall under the domain of WordPress.org . WordPress.org is the site for people who want to install their own version of WordPress on their own server (for example Bluehost).

    When you delete your WordPress.com account, it would remove all the sites hosted on WordPress.com

    For example, I have two blogs:
    Mysite.com hosted on Bluehost
    and
    Mysite.wordpress.com

    If I delete my WordPress.com account, it would remove the mysite.wordpress.com blog, but I will still have my Bluehost hosted WordPress service.

    Hi twopipes,

    @scherem
    is correct when they say closing your account will only delete the sites hosted by WordPress.com.

    All of your sites were created using WordPress.org software and are hosted by NameCheap rather than WordPress.com — but the Jetpack plugin creates a connection to WordPress.com, meaning they can be managed through your account here.

    Closing your twopipes account won’t remove those sites or the content, just the Jetpack connection. Once this account has been closed, you will need to login to each site directly by adding /wp-admin/ onto the end of the URL.
