Deleting old account.

    I recently set up a new site with the domain name lisepomeroy.com with Bluehost. I want to delete my old site with the domain name designsbylise. When I click on the WP app on my ipad, I want to go to my new site. Can you help?

    Hi there,

    I currently see two sites in your account:

    http://designsbylise.wordpress.com/, which is a free WordPress.com site, and

    http://designsbylise.com/, a site using the open source WordPress software, hosted by Hostgator.com, and connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin.

    To delete the WordPress.com site, go to My Site ->Switch Site and select it. Then go to Settings. The Delete Site option is at the bottom there.

    To remove the Hostgator site from your account, follow the same steps, but in this case you’ll see an option to disconnect the site, rather than delete it.

    To manage your new site via the app you have two options:

    1) The easiest – install the Jetpack plugin on that site as well, and connect it to your WordPress.com account. That will allow you to manage that site via the mobile app, and also while logged into WordPress.com in a browser.

    2) Tap the WordPress icon in the app, tap Switch Site, and tap the button to add a new site. Select the option to add a self-hosted site, and fill in the site URL, admin username and password for that site. The username and password needs to be the ones you use to log into WP-Admin on that site, NOT your WordPress.com account credentials.
