Deleting old comments that contain personal information
-
Hello, I don’t use WordPress anymore however I am aware that despite deleting everything there are still comments on other users blogs that have my name associated with them and I wish to have these removed. As a EU citizen I have the right to have these deleted under GDPR but can find no way to do this if you can please help me with this.

Hi there,
I am afraid that is not possible:
Can I edit comments I left on someone else’s blog?
No. It is not possible to edit or delete any comments you have left on other WordPress.com blogs. Blog owners are in full control of the comments on their blogs, so you can try contacting the blog owner and ask them to edit or delete a comment for you. If the blog owner has not posted any contact information, you can try leaving a short comment asking how to contact them directly.
So, the best bet is to reach out to the blog owner and see if they are willing to remove it. For they are individually responsible for the removal of the comments per your request:

Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Hi there – thanks for the reply.
I can try reach out to individual sites.
However, as these sites are still hosted on wordpress.com, this means that my PII is stored on WordPress servers. As such, under GDPR, WordPress legally need to provide the ability to delete that data.
Can you please advise how I can do this?

We’ll see if we can get more info on that. To clarify, though, are you getting pushback from the site owners, or have you not contacted them?
