Deleting Old Domain

It’s not too much of a big deal, but I recently bought the domain for my blog, farmingthedream.wordpress.com, so that now it’s farmingthedream.com, now I want to get rid of the .wordpress.com domain. Based on the many, many, different support pages I’ve been reading I thought it would be possible.
I haven’t found any clear way of doing it, so I’m asking for help, something I don’t do often.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there!
Farmingthedream.com is your custom domain name. It represents your website and all of the visitors to your site will see that in the address bar. However, farmingthedream.com is only a name, not a website.
Your actual website is farmingthedream.wordpress.com. It is invisible to everyone but you. If you deleted farmingthedream.wordpress.com, you wouldn’t have a website. You’d own a domain name, but nothing else.
Nobody but you needs to know it even exists.
You will log into your site and manage it at farmingthedream.wordpress.com/wp-admin.
