Deleting old site

  • Unknown's avatar

A while ago I changed the name of my blog but kept the same account. The old address was manordispatches.wordpress.com and I changed it to thereiseveryquest.wordpress.com.

When I go to “my sites” there is still visible the “manordispatches” site, and I realized today that when I commented on another blog, clicking my name/avatar linked me to the now empty and dead “manordispatches” site instead of the one I am using.

Can I go to Tools>Delete Site and delete the old site, even though it’s the one I changed the name from and not worry about my current site being altered?

    Thanks

    Colion

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I spelled my own damn name wrong. Ignore that mistake, ha.

The old address and the new one are separate, but it’s probably best to go to your account and set your new URL as primary, then set the old blog to Private. Deletions are irreversible, and one slip of a finger can really screw you up.

Right–thanks. That fixed it. I was missing that I had to change my account settings in the wordpress account area, rather than WPadmin.

    Cheers
