Deleting one but not all of my sites

I accidentally created a new site through my personal site. I want to delete it and set a site up with the same name, but under a different account, not the one with my name.

I looked at “transfer site” but am not sure that’s what I need. If it is, I did not quite understand how to do it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Every blog is a free standing website and no matter how many are registered under the same username account nothing you do on one sites has any effects on any other sites.

The email address registered with your WordPress.com username account is your unique identifier. Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and their associated email address.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/

The blog’s owner must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased upgrades to renew them, or to transfer the blogs and the upgrades to another username account, or to use the lost password link, or the account recovery form, or to delete site content, or to delete the site itself.

You must log out and clear your browser cache and cookies before logging in under another username account.

I want to delete it and set a site up with the same name

    Don’t delete the site.

Blog deletion is a permanent and irreversible act. Deleting a site requires ignoring several warnings that the URL cannot be registered again by you or anyone else. https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

I have tried to create a new account that is not me, but an organization, but I keep being taken to my own site.

Okay, I remember you said that earlier. But, every time I clear my cache but tell it not to clear passwords, it clears passwords anyway. I have many, many passwords for many different sites. This is getting so confusing. I may just pick another blog service. I’m really discouraged.

I have set my browser to clear my cache and cookies every time I log off of the internet. I never ever in a million years will have my browser set to remember any passwords to any of my online accounts because that would make my accounts vulnerable to hackers and phishers. As I cannot help you I typed modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. Hi, inspirationsbykatheryn . Sometimes if I need to do something without logging out or clearing cache / passwords, I’ll just use an Incognito Window. It looks like you may be using Chrome, and if so, you’d do that with File > New Incognito Window.

Then you can log in as the user that currently owns the site, and transfer it to the other user using these steps:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

Chrome will also let you set up “profiles” for different users, so if you find yourself switching back and forth a lot, that may be a good option for you. I hope that helps!

Wonderful. Yes, I know about Chrome’s incognito window. I have used it when web pages didn’t look right until it was fixed. I’ll try that, and try not to be discouraged.

I went incognito and was able to set up a separate account, but after I set up the home page for it, in one place it said it was from my account I had had before. Oh, well. Thanks for the suggestions.

@inspirationsbykatheryn, what are you hoping to do at this point?

Normally you would want to sign in as the other user, then transfer the site to your regular user using these steps:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
