deleting original domain

  I created a free domain in 2015 that I do not wish to keep. I have purchased a new domain and bluehost to go with wordrpress. Do I delete the original domain?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Do you want to map your WordPress.com site with your new domain?
  You can check this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Important: If you want to use a self-hosted like bluehost, you will be using WordPress.org and not WordPress.com.

  What @dgondim mentioned is correct,

  If you are moving to WordPress.org to host your site, you will no longer need your site hosted here. However, instead of deleting it, I would hide your site instead – just in case you ever want to go back to it in the future. You can use the following guide to make your site private so only you and other members of the site can view it when logged in:
