I saved the images on to a USB drive. Then I deleted them form the desktop and emptied the rubbish bin
Guess what? They are still on line.
Now I don’t know what to do.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content and deleting blogs does not remove any indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months.

If you delete them from your blog’s photo/media library, you’ll also delete them from your blog. If you still see them after deleting them from your blog photo library, try refreshing the page.
Deleting them from your computer desktop and computer trash won’t affect your blog.

Let me start again and I will check comments later. I have things to do.
I tried an experiment
I had two photos on a post, which were saved on my desktop. That was yesterday afternoon. Some 18 hours ago.
I removed them from the Media section.
They remained on the Blog piece.
They were still there this morning.
I saved them to a USB drive and removed them totally from my computer.
They are still there
Now a thought has occurred as I tried this in the past with something taken from elsewhere on the net . Maybe there is a difference?

What are the URLs? Please post them and I will check into this for you.
And, more to the point, have you logged out and cleared you browser cache and cookies because you could be viewing cached copies? -
If you delete photos from your computer, they’re gone from your computer, not from your blog. Your media library images are stored in your media library, which is hosted at server farms all over the world.
If you delete images from the blog’s media library, they’re gone from your blog. Your blog exists entirely separate from your computer. I think I’m on my seventh computer but still on my first blog here.

There is nothing to check out and yes I log in and out since someone got into my Blog through my open account and removed a few things a few months back.
No need to check thanks. I tend to think it i the fact they are actual photos from my computer
I found out yesterday, playing around, that if I copy an Internet image it doesn’t store in Media. So that is still on the net.
I am going to try it with other photos I have and see what happens. Thanks

No that is not the case.
The whole point as stated they are still there after having being deleted from the Media some 19 hours ago.. Read 3 above.
I just checked again and they are still in situ

Nothing there relates to what I am talking about.
I deleted 2 of the photos on a Blog piece which were in Media.
Yet they are still in situ and nowhere on my computer. I also emptied the rubbish bin. I saved them to a USB drive so I don’t lose them. That drive is not plugged in either
I wonder if this is because they are not internet based?
