Deleting Photos From Library

  Hi,

  I’m just wondering. If I delete a photo from the library on my dashboard will it disappear from the post where it’s featured?

  I just don’t want my library cluttered up.

  Yes. Deleting it form the Media Library means it will not be on the WordPress.com servers and cannot be displayed in post or on pages or in widgets when browsers call for that to happen.

  Thanks for the quick reply.

  So is there any way I can make sure that it’s uncluttered? I used to write for an online magazine which always seemed to have an empty library but their pictures remained. Any idea how they did that?

  Yes, they linked to images that were on image hosting site servers. Example: Flickr, Photobucket, etc.

  Note: The Media Library is not for public viewing at all. It’s only for storage. The storage space allowed is HUGE ie. 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. I’ve been here for over 6 years and this is what I have used: “You are currently using 98.1 MB out of 3.0 GB upload limit (3%).”
