deleting photos i've uploaded to wordpress

    delete some images so I can make room to uploads new ones

    Have you checked what percentage of space has been used in your Media Library? You can use up to 3GB of space on a free plan and much more if you upgrade. After nine years and 2000 images (jpgs optimized for the web) I have still only used 12% of my 3GB. You can delete images from the Media Library if you haven’t used them already in posts and pages. Deleting images from the library will also delete them from any posts they are linked to and WordPress.com has no way to recover deleted images if you haven’t kept your own copies of them.

    I have used 2.89GB of my 3GB with 8 photos, all of which were only 512kb in size when I uploaded them but now almost break my limit in two days.

    I cannot delete any as there isn’t an option of doing this. I have used three photos and was going to use the others soon but as I want to upload one new picture, which I can’t as I will go over the limit.

    The posts I have aren’t anywhere near enough to break a handful of MBs let alone a GB.

    All I need to know is where the option to delete is. I’m not a beginner to computers or websites, I’ve worked with them for years in offices but this one on WordPress is……..to put it politely a bag of rust bolts in an impeller!

    According to your site’s dashboard you’ve only used 2.81 MB (0%) of your available storage space.

    If you click on the media library on that page you’ll be able to delete images from there, but don’t see why you would need to. Where do you see it say you’ve used 2.89 GB?
