Deleting posts

  I want to delete my first two posts but what happens to them? Do they disappear into cyberspace forever, or are they archived somewhere in case I want to restore them?

  Just realized that I don’t know what happens to old posts in general, but would like to keep this simple and focused on my first two posts for now. TIA

  Delete means delete. If you want to remove them from public view without deleting them, check the box for making them “private” in the Editing window, on the right side, just under “Publish Status”.

  Surely it could turn up in some archive somewhere..? Of course, not to be counted on, but gone is not Gone.

  That’s true. Gone is never gone; Yahoo China, for instance, never deletes anything, and there is the Internet Archive, which indexes even blogs that have been set to Private. I have no idea how they do that, though.

  @boblets and rain-thanks for the additional info/advice about removing from view and deleting! I was thinking locally, not globally.

  Just one more reason not to spill one’s guts on the net, or at least not to regret having done it.
