Deleting Site

  I would like to delete my blog, however, when I try to delete it, it won’t let me. It says “Warning! You cannot delete a blog if the blog has a domain registration upgrade.” Thank you for your help.

  You’ll need to remove the upgrade from the Settings->Domains page first, but then you should be able to delete the blog.
  Let us know if you need any additional assistance with this.

  I’m on the domain page, but I’m not sure how to remove the upgrade. There isn’t a specific button or drop down menu that mentiones this. Thanks for your help.

  Actually, scratch that, it’s a full domain registration.

  If we cancel the domain, it can take up to several weeks, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it.

  Instead, you can move the domain another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

  If you don’t want this domain at all, you can cancel it for a full refund if you purchased it within the last two days.

  To cancel the domain, go to Store > Domains in your dashboard. Locate the domain you want to cancel in the list, and click on the Cancel button next to it.

  This cannot be undone, so please follow the on-screen instructions carefully before you confirm the cancellation.

  That’s great. Another question. If I wanted to keep the blog in WordPress, but didn’t want to keep paying for the blog, is there a way to switch it over to a free subscription? Or would I have to delete the site and make a new one?

  You can cancel the domain, or let it expire, if you want.

  Your blog will always remain hosted for free at: http://miporcion324.wordpress.com/

  Great! However, why is it that when I went to cancel the account it says that my personal information will become visible. What personal information is it referring to?

  A domain owner’s personal information (email address, phone number, and mailing address) need to be made available for public record by law.

  If you cancel the domain, this will be noted.
