Deleting site…
-
For the past hour I have tried to delete my page. I get as far as:”edit your profile and change the “website” entry”. What do you mean by that?

This is a blog ie. a website. http://gallerigreenhouse.wordpress.com/
It is not a Page nor is it a Post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/You must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog. Deleting a blog/site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address. If you delete a blog/site you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog address. You must be sure you never want to use the blog/site again if you delete it. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog/site deletion is permanent. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ Maybe you would like to make the blog private so if you change your mind in the future then you will still have it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ -

Don’t panic. Remain clam. Make the blog private while waiting please http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ as I have tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Ha, I read it as calm anyway. I made the site private now. Thanks – it ought to be easier, though. WordPress is a real “timethief”.

Just in case you don’t know this please read what follows:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blogs and/or blog content does not remove any indexed items from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. -
Hi Elene, I’m sorry for the trouble you experienced with this. If you followed the instructions for deleting your site and didn’t receive the confirmation email, I would be happy to take care of it for you.
As a reminder, site deletions are permanent and we can’t revert a site deletion for any reason. Once a site is deleted, you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address.
If you’re sure you want to delete it, can you reply back and confirm the address of your site? I can then delete it for you.
