Deleting site after migration

  I’ve migrated my .com site to a self hosted environment (Bluehost) and now want to delete my .com site. Is there any reason why I shouldn’t do this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi! I advise you to empty the blog instead of deleting it so you that you still own that address. https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

  Also, you’re going to need to direct your followers to your new blog, so after emptying it, you should also leave a post on your wordpress.com site promoting your new address. :)

  BEFORE you empty your blog, though, I advise you to export it just so you have a backup! https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
