Deleting site content but keeping the name
-
I’ve had some probs and would like to start again. Have tried trashing each page which appears to work, but then the section headings remain and ask me to search for the deleted page . . .! Don’t know what to try next. Have also tried changing the theme but same prob remains. Any help out there?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no such thing as a theme reset button. We just undo whatever we did.
You must be logged in under the username account that registered the site first. Then to empty the site you have two options:
(1) Doing this quickly and easily yourself http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
(2) Waiting in a queue and having Staff do it for you.If you have a lot of content Staff can empty the whole blog for you. That will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files and once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blogs and/or blog content does not remove indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found):

(1) confirm the URL of the blog(s) you want them to empty;
(2) confirm that you know content deletion is irreversible. -
I have more than 1 site running. The History one (shown on first post for some reason) is fine; the one I want to change (I only started it a few days ago) is: https://newtonpopsecretcouncil.wordpress.com/
No prob deleting all the pages contents, but the headings (‘About’ and ‘People’) are still there and produce the message ‘Not found’ which would be fine if only the headings would disappear! I had started with a different theme but had this problem, so changed to Twenty Ten as it had worked well before . . . but prob is the same.
I suspect I will have to destroy the whole thing and come up with a new name (a pity). -
Hi there,
Are you wanting your theme reverted to its original layout as well? If so, I can go ahead and empty the site and reset the theme for you.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks, -
Many thanks for your offer of help.
I became so annoyed with it I’ve started again with a new temp name, so now only want to get rid of the old version of https://newtonpopsecretcouncil.wordpress.com/ and then rename the new temp site (currently newtonpoptest.wordpress.com ) to that name.
Is that something you could help me with – safely? -
Hi there,
It will be much easier for me to just clear the old version so that you have access to a brand new blog. You cannot rename sites to the name of WordPress.com names that already exist.
Confirm that you are okay with me emptying the site and I’ll take care of it.
Thanks!
