deleting site on wordpress

  • Unknown's avatar

    How do you delete a site listed on WordPress.com that is not accessible by dashboard. Check out it out. The site button on WordPress.com says Susan’s Blog: The Inner Soul but the website comes up as http://susanspetblog.com . I do have 2 sites and one redirect from when Susan’s Blog… was a subdomain before making it a .com domain.
    Please help.

    Is the website URL of Susan’s Blog: The Inner Soul, http://www.innercounsel.com/blog/? You should be able to log in to either of you websites with, in each case, the appropriate username or email address and password, here:

    Log in https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?

    @nerdykd,

    You’ll have to delete each unwanted site individually: Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site > and proceed from there. You must confirm each deletion at your account’s email address.

    those are hosted in my own windows server and after testing i used to delete them, and those are not wordpress.com blogs

    @nerdykd,
    Oh. I think you may need Staff help with removing them. I’ll flag the thread for Staff attention.

    yaaa, but i should be user friendly, every time you can’t contact staff r8?

    @nerdykd – Our developers are working on adding the tool to remove these sites yourself again. We had to take it down for a bit. Can you tell me what site you need removed?

    @ susancfl – Your site http://susanspetblog.com/ is not hosted here on WordPress.com. In order to access the dashboard of that site, you’ll need to log in using your credentials specific to that site, possibly through HostGator.

    Site 1 is susanspetblog brings up my blog but without dashboard.
    susanspetblog.com/susanspetblog/wordpress

    Site 2 is Susan’s Blog: The Inner Soul doesn’t work at all and needs deleted. susansblogtheinnersoul.com

    Site 3 is Susan’s Blog: The Inner Soul and only gives me the c panel from hostgator and they were unable to fix this yesterday. This one goes to susansblogtheinnersoul.com

    Site 4 is susanspetblog and again brings up the site but without a dashboard. It’s at susanspetblog.com/susanspetblog/wordpress

    site 5 showed up after I asked for help through the forum. It is susanspetblog agains comes up but without a dashboard, It’s at
    susanspetblog.com/susanspetblog/wordpress

    As you can see it is all very confusing. 2 of these sites #1 and #2 worked before I contacted Hostgator but they backed up my files and those sites are down also now. I really need your help, Beside canceling my hosting service with Hostgator I don’t know what else to do.
    PS: I can also bring up both sites from a supercache file but there is no design/theme and no dashboard.
    Thanx, Susan

    We cannot help you at all with Hostgator sites. They are WordPress.ORG sites.

    Thanks Susan. I do see five Jetpack linked blogs associated with your account currently. Although, from your list, I’m not sure which, if any, you want to keep. I can remove them all for you if you’d like. Then when you log into your site at HostGator, you’ll just need to reconnect your Jetpack plugin and you’ll be all set.

    Just let me know if you’d like me to do that.

    @shawnajroberts can you help me to delete my jetpack sites

  • Unknown's avatar

    Thanx
    Please delete all. I will add them back if you tell me how I do this.

    @susancfl – I just removed them all. If you open the Jetpack menu in your dashboard there should be a banner asking you to connect to your WordPress.com account.

    @nerdykd – I can. You need to tell me what sites to remove.

    Thanx for your help. Susan

    @nerdykd – Thanks! I just removed all of those for you.

    @susancfl – It looks like you tried to attach an image. Unfortunately that won’t work in our forums. Can you upload the image to your Media Library instead?

    Thank you @shawnajroberts

    and please consider adding a feature to remove the site by the user who created it, it’ll help beta testers and developers.
