Deleting Site then reopening

  Hello,
  I created a site yesterday that I want to delete and make again using another account. I find that having two sites on the same account isn’t very helpful for me and my organization so I attempted to add myself using another account to the site as an administrator and then delete this account as an administrator on the site. It would not allow me to do that. Is there any way I can delete the site and create it again using the same name and web address?

  Hi there,

  Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).

  Hi there,

  A deleted site cannot be re-registered by a different account. But you can transfer the site to the other account instead, making that account the owner:

  @catkiinson, please read the support page you link to. It was updated several months ago to indicate deleted sites can be restored if requested within 30 days.

  Also please make sure to read the entire question before you reply. The OP is ultimately not asking about restoring a deleted site, but how to have a different username be the owner of the site.
