How can I delete the site I started to free up the name for someone else

Hi,
For a while the Delete Site support page included a note that said a deleted site address might become available again in (if I recall correctly) two years. There’s presently no indication in the support page that deleted URLs will ever be available again, to anyone.
So presently a much better course of action would be to empty the site and transfer it. See the following relevant support pages.
