Deleting site/blog – poor communication!
-
Subject: Deleting a blog. I wish to point out a communication error, deficiency really, in your how to instructions re this:- You use both the terms “site” and “blog” and this is confusing when there are multiple blogs. I suggest you reword all instructions to differentiate between these two. My problem is that when I got to the end of the process I was unsure whether I was going to only delete the blog I created in error somehow or ALL my blogs which would have been a disaster. Please confirm that if I click on the “Delete this site” WITH REF. TO A SPECIFIC BLOG only that blog will be deleted. Many thanks, I enjoy the site very much and your help is always A1.
Here is an example of what I mean and the point is that WHERE THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY that all one’s blogs will be permanently lost the wise will hesitate!
Delete Site
To delete or cancel a blog, go to Tools -> Delete Blog in your Dashboard. If you delete a blog you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog address. You must be sure you never want to use the blog again if you delete it.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All blogs (sites) are independent and deleting one blog (site) registered under the same username account that other blogs (sites) are also registered under has no affect on them.
Provided you are logged in under the Admin username account that registered the blog in question you can delete any blog registered under that username by using these instructions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
After you do that if you cannot locate a verification email, look in your email client spam/junk mail filter for the email with the blog deletion verification link in it and click that link. If clicking it does not work then copy and paste the link into your upper browser bar and click.
Note: If you delete a blog URL it can not be used by you or by anyone else again. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
Making the blog visibility private is also an option > http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ -
Thank you for your prompt response.
I now realise this, of course, but have you missed the point I was making about “communication”? If communication is distinct – no ambiguity – the reader knows EXACTLY what to do. This is patently NOT the case here. Correct? I strongly suggest that WP admin. rectify this shortcoming to maintain the quality of a very good website.
Meanwhile, would you or someone please answer my question which was: Please confirm that if I click on the “Delete this site” WITH REF. TO A SPECIFIC BLOG only that blog will be deleted. -

Confirmed.

Many thanks to all concerned and I do hope that admin. will edit the instruction to make things clear. I did notice that there were previous questions about this problem.
Thank you, again. Good “customer service” as usual. -
Deleting a site will simply delete the site. As timethief pointed out already, you have a site that may or may not have a blog. The ‘Delete Site’ tool does mention clearly what WordPress.com address will be removed once you continue.
