Deleting subscribers from private site once they are no longer a user.

I created my blog as a private blog for owners in a home owners association. Only the residents can use the blog and I have invited them all with very little issues. Some owners have sold their homes and I have removed them as a Viewer using the Reading Settings interface but they are still listed as followers in this page: https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog_subscribers. How do I remove them from there? I understand that they can not log in to the site but I certainly do not want them to be receiving email updates containing private post text. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
