Deleting the appearance of Meta and Archive widgets

  I’ve gone into Appearence –> Widgits and dragged the Meta and Archive widgits from the Inactive Widgets box into the Sidebar, then into the Available Widget box to delete them. They’ve both dissapeared but are still very much there to look at when you visit my site http://www.ladygardentv.wordpress.com. I want them to dissapear – help!
